Hello Everyone, This is my 1st blog post on the Eye4you Alliance Blog
I like to share with you how I throught it went for the 1st College Fair that Eye4you Alliance as done on the Teen Grid. To start off saying that over the last 2 month or so we have been preparing to set up a college fair with carefull planning and prep work thanks to the Alliance Library System and the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County in North Carolina, USA in which we could do this and specal thanks to approved adults and teens who made this happen.
I managed to help with the College Fair by setting up a booth/store about my group called TSL Greeters group in TSL to tell college reps about what it does, why and where we help to etc. I made some freebies, scripts, links and how to join the group and also useful information about the hangouts in where we greet to. At 10am SLT on Saturday the college fair began with us looking around the fair and finding out about the many colleges who came, then we had speakers such as Human Potential, NASA, Amazon and Success in College with a talk from Linden Lab and TSL Greeters, I throught this was awsome to hear what different colleges from around the world in second life had to say and how teens could get involved with the rest of the day having fun with the college reps.
On Sunday another awsome day by having speakers taking about Human Potential, Nasa, Technical Careers and Scritping including TSL Greeters after that we went to the Eye4you Alliance theatre to watch college recruitment videos that went well. At the end of the weekend we had a Vote to vote for Best Booth, Best Speech Saturday, Best Speech Sunday that was fun to get a money and a small prize. To finish up the weekend college fair we all took the college fair survey to fill in for ideas for next year. Awsome Weekend i’ve enjoyed every moment of it so did everyone else from 10am to 5pm SLT on both days and I would come to visit and take part for next time.
