Background of the Tournaments

The Eye4you Medieval Enchantment Tournaments (MET) are a natural extension of the Medieval Festival on May 31. Jousting and Archery contests were so popular that other events had to be postponed. The METs provide a glimpse into what it might have been like to live in Medieval times or in a Medieval Fantasy. MET events during the first of the month were canceled due to not enough attending. This was probably due to teens school finals, the redesigning of the Eye4you sim, Storm Basiat, one of our Teen Managers, being on vacation and some technical difficulties. The last 2 weeks have been much better.

The METs are Fridays at 1pm to 3pm (right after Science Friday in the Eye4you Space Station). Events are rotated between Jousting, Archery, Sword, Magic, Medieval History Challenge and Bardic Circle, depending on the interests of those who enter and the availability of equipment. We have a good collection of free beginning weapons and clothing in a shop under the main Gallery (arena seating). The horses and lances are loaned to teens, since we have only a few of them from the main grid.

Thank you to Adult Grid Creators

The large “Shire” horses of Virrginia Tombola make great war horses for jousting. Several teens said they wish there were such cool horses to buy on the teen grid. Slydel Rau and Romulus Nikolaidis of The Armor Stall of the Jousting Stall on the main grid made transferable lances and DONATED!!! them to Eye4you. Slydel also recently donated some armor for the horses, so when we get those transferred, jousting will look even more authentic. Thank you so much!SpellFire Weapons were made by teens from SpellFire Developer Kits from Aaron Cerveau of Stone Keep on the main grid. The starter disks for the Arena were made by Luke Poplin of Poplin Forge. Using them has made the sparring matches more organized. The Scoreboard and Archery Field bought and set up by our newest Approved Adult, Intellagirl Telling, has added greatly to the success of running games. Kouse Singh made some of the lovely women’s outfits which are transferable. I see she has some new teen grid acceptable designs now too at Kouse’s Sanctorum. Thank you Majenna Jewel for bring over some great outfits for the teens. Thank you to Saryn Fanwood for transferring them and for her library to allow this to all happen in the first place. Thank you all very much.

I, Zoaan Shepherd, sponsor the tournaments and award Linden$ to the winners as well as titles of Knights of the Realm, Mage of the Realm and Ranger of the Realm to teens who excel in the contests.

(See Storm’s post of Winners of June 28) Congratulations to Jeroen Knight of the Realm, who displayed courage fairness and determination, and looks every bit like a handsome Knight in Armor. Congratulations to Flexis Ranger of the Realm, whose keen focus and participation will be an asset to the Realm.

Sunday June 29 Mixed Sword (6 Entries) and Magic (4 Entries) Tournament

This was an experiment with our new magic wands. We mixed the event to allow for any SpellFire weapon in the matches and discovered that wands take a long time. They look flashy and hit easily but do little damage, so magic will be used in large-scale battles, rather than in the Arena. We will be getting a Wizards game too. Winners for Sunday June 29: Congratulations!

  • First place - ElvisPresleyFan Bellic First Mage of the Realm, who displayed great endurance and tenacity in the matches. Well done!
  • Second Place - Auron Segall - Excellent!
  • Third place - Storm Basiat
  • Fourth place - Mitchcm Manamiko
  • Other Participants: Henrick Svendsen, Zate Totter, Jonnie Loon

Thank You Nicholas Hawthorne for running the Scoreboard so excellently. Ribbity Voom for making free practice dummies for everyone and a Go Cube. All participants displayed impressive Courtesy, Sportsmanship and Chivalry.
