On Sunday, August 24th, 2008, the TSL Model UN on Eye4You Alliance hosted its first meeting in the new Model UN General Assembly Building which was recently created by Nicholas and Dragon.
Fleet led the panel discussion on the topic “Should Russia Pay a Price?” This topic centered on the recent conflict between Russia and Georgia.
Discussed were such issues such as the role of the USA in the conflict. The role that other countries have taken in the peace-keeping of that region. The question on how the United Nations resolution, which aims at bringing peace to Georgia, can be achieved? Should the U.S., France and Britain insist on immediate withdrawal?
We had a good discussion on these and other topics that day.
