More detailed info.:
1. What did you like about the fair experience?
Teens
- You get info on top colleges
-very good, informative
- It was very nice, the reps were more than happy to answer questions.
Adults
-Ability to interact with prospective students and other colleges from all over.
- I found it interesting to see that there are those who dedicate so much of their time to teaching teens what they should know.
- I enjoyed meeting to diverse people represented throughout the day.
-the variety
-Chance to interact with prospective students, and with colleagues from other institutions.
- I enjoyed the chance to interact with teens and answer their questions about college.
- A chance to chat and meet with the teens (sorry I couldnt hang around more!) Friendly atmosphere.
- Talking to students and class presentation
2. How did you hear about the college fair?
Teens
-I did not, I just saw that there were lots of people on EyeForYouAlliance Island on the map.
- My freind Alex invited me
- i’m a manager of eye4ou
- My friend told me
Adults
-SLED listserv
- From one of the professors at my institution
- Recruited by veteran TG educator
- I read about it online on the Eye4You Alliance Blog
-Attended last year
-Co-worker
3. What could be improved?
Teens
-It would be nice if Certified adults could be the only ones who could build so certain spammers could not always drop payloads of warheads all over the area.
- Maybe more universities could be asked to join. At least 50, some for each state
-don’t know
- Nothing, it was good, though maybe more schools
Adults
-More detailed information on how to prepare. More teens!
- Keeping individuals on the subject of college and/or academic-related material
-maybe more speakers
- Recommend it be spread over two days, with shorter hours each day. Perhaps morning one day, afternoon, the next
- A shorter time frame - I could only be there for half of the time. 6 hours total seemed a bit long
- I guess it would be nice to have more teens. To have a longer fixed period for the fair to maintain a presence might be good (and allow ‘visiting’ hours) - say over a one or two week period, with a single day in the middle for talks.
- Local chat is not very effective when you want to have chat with one person. I understand there are restrictions when working in the Teen Grid however if college reps could have private conversations with students that would be nice.
4. Why did you want to participate in the college fair?
Teens
-I thought it interesting to learn from Adults on TSL
- I’d like to know about my college choices
- because i’m a manager
- To learn more about admittance and such
Adults
-Mostly out of curiosity
- Networking and marketing my school
- to approach a different audience and to show our growth in technology related activities
- I moved an avatar over to the teen grid to volunteer, and working at the college fair seemed to be a good way to meet people and get myself acquainted with the estate.
- To promote my school and learn more about SL
-represent my institution was the key purpose
5. Any other comments or suggestions
Teens
-Nope, all good.
- None other than this field should not be required.
Adults
-I think the concept is wonderful. Maybe we could try and spread out the more active prims to spread the lag.
-This is phenomenal.
- The Eye4You managers and other college fair participants were very helpful and gave me lots of useful items, such as flipbooks, give all boxes, etc. All of those kinds of promotional gizmos were great - perhaps have a bunch of those type items boxed and ready to pass those out to the college reps next year?
